Department of Fundamentals of Nursing

The department undertakes training of undergraduate nursing students. Students receive training in basic nursing procedures which will help them to give basic care to patients. Students are given training in developing basic skills in the laboratory, in simulated conditions, before they are exposed to actual hospital situations. The faculty of the department provides good teaching- learning exposure to the students under the expert leadership of Dr. Mamatha Shivananda Pai, Professor and Head of the department, fundamentals of Nursing. The average student rating of the department faculty is 4.65 on a five point scale.

Laboratory facilities:

Department has five mannequins which acts as simulators for the students to practice basic nursing skills. The laboratory is spacious with all the modern equipment as per the norms for students practice. The laboratory is utilised to the maximum by the faculty and students for demonstration of different basic nursing procedures.
